Kate's Story
A Dream and a Passion
Some of my fondest childhood memories involve looking out the kitchen window and spotting my grandmother, who lived next door, picking a giant bouquet of cheerful daffodils. I knew she was picking them for just me. I vividly remember watching her walk toward my house with the pretty, bright flowers in hand. I felt such happiness – I was about to receive a handful of sunshine. I felt so special.
My grandmother taught me a lot about growing flowers, and I loved passing that knowledge on to my children. Nothing brings me greater joy than being in nature and digging in the dirt.
I hope that when I hand someone a bouquet, they feel special. I hope they feel joy. And I hope they feel like they are being given a handful of sunshine.
